BCRC Benefits Package
Once hired, an employee has the option to accept BCRC's comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare and dental coverage.
In order to qualify for benefits, an employee must work 20 hours per week. Employees become eligible for benefits when they have completed four weeks of working the 20 hour minimum. Benefits begin the first of the month following the date of eligibility.
The only time to apply for medical and dental benefits is the time of hire or rehire or during the annual open enrollment period. This includes additions of spouses or dependents. Contact the BCRC Human Resources office to obtain a medical and dental enrollment packet.
BCRC also provides a retirement program and offers COBRA, a continuation of benefits if an employee has been terminated or quits. Please read below for more.
COBRA
In a situation (i.e. termination, quit, etc.) where health coverage ends, federal law requires the employer to offer employees and their families the opportunity to elect a tempoary extension of coverage, COBRA. In order to qualify for continuation or COBRA coverage, one must show proof of being insurable. Additionally, one must pay a monthly premium for this coverage. See the COBRA Information (.pdf) files on how to apply.
